Planting:
1. Seed selection: Purchase high-quality Red Lady papaya seeds from a reputable supplier.
2. Seed treatment: Soak the seeds in water with a fungicide like Mancozeb for 12 hours to prevent fungal diseases.
3. Land preparation: Choose a sunny location with well-drained soil. Loosen the soil to a depth of about 30 to 40 centimeters (12 to 16 inches) and incorporate organic matter like compost or manure to improve fertility.
4. Planting: Sow the seeds directly into the prepared soil or sow them in seed trays for transplanting later. If planting directly, sow the seeds at a depth of about 1 centimeter (0.4 inches) and space them 2 to 3 meters (6.5 to 10 feet) apart.
5. Watering: Water the seeds regularly to keep the soil moist but not waterlogged.

Care and Maintenance:
– Once the seedlings establish, thin them out to leave only the strongest plants.**
– Provide regular watering, especially during the dry season.**
– Apply fertilizer every 2 to 3 months to ensure proper growth and fruit production.** A balanced fertilizer with NPK ratio of 14:14:14 is recommended.
– Mulch around the base of the plant to retain moisture, suppress weeds, and regulate soil temperature.**
– Red Lady papaya is generally resistant to papaya ringspot virus, but it’s still important to monitor the plants for pests and diseases and take necessary control measures.**

Harvesting:
– Red Lady papaya fruits are ready to harvest when they reach full size and develop a slight color change from green to yellow or orange on the skin.
– To harvest, carefully cut the fruit from the stem using sharp pruners.

With proper care and maintenance, you can enjoy a bountiful harvest of delicious Red Lady papayas (F1 Hybrid Papaya 786) from your own garden.
